I’m not sure about you but I’ve always loved the old Disney movies, especially those about genies in bottles. Old tv shows such as Bewitched also kept this genie fascination alive and well. How many times have you wondered what your wishes would be if you actually got three?.
Aladdin is the movie I’ve been looking forward to seeing the remake of, ever since it was first announced it was being remade. The fact that Will Smith was going to be the genie just made me anticipate it even more.
The movie didn’t disappoint. The beautiful bright colours of the wonderful costumes and the singing and dancing resulted in kids dancing in the aisles of the movie cinema. I wouldn’t say it’s the best remake of a classic, but I can always gloss over some of the new CGI techniques when the costume designers are given free reign to create a bright, vibrant wardrobe of amazing costumes, and there is singing.
We’ve got some of the beautiful new costumes from the movie and who doesn’t like the idea of being a princess for a day. Maybe for our next party I’ll don the Jasmine adult version and put my daughter in the Jasmine child costume. It might be taking the mother daughter relationship to another level, but it would be fun! I can then put my son in the new Genie costume and we’ll have the complete set 🙂
The Princess Jasmine and Genie costumes are perfect for Book Week. Get our orders in early to alleviate the potential stress levels associated with organising last minute costumes.
